The Week Begins

One comic…seriously…one…comic. I can take going downtown for 2 comics, but one? No way. You’re going to have to wait a while for a review of batman I suppose as I’m not going all the way downtown for one damn comic. Oh yeah, and this is The Week Begins.

Batman #686 *most anticipated comic of the week for obvious reasons*

Written: Neil Gaiman

Art: Andy Kubert

I’m not Gaiman’s biggest fan really but Kirk Warren convinced me to check this out shortly after it’s announcement. It looks good from the preview, at least the art does. My big concern I suppose is that we’re going with a basic review of Batman’s life. We sort of got that in the Final Crisis tie in and while it was okay, it wasn’t amazingly great. Hopefully Gaiman will actually go somewhere with this rather then treading familiar waters and wasting 8 bucks. Still I can’t deny that it looks good, especially on the art side of things as Kubert is a great artist and this looks well worth the cover price. While I’m not 100% sure about it, I look forward to picking it up soon.

So yeah, that’s it for this edition of The Week Begins. Pretty short…No other comics I’d like to comment on, so yeah. Come back tomorrow for the long delayed Year’s End Awards.

I like epic weeks of comics. But hey, to each his own.
